Blewett Pass is a well traveled small mountain highway that connects Wenatchee and the surrounding area with Ellensburg and Cle Elum in Washington State. This barn is located in what is known as Lauderdale. You will see large bulls out in the pasture in the early spring and although the old house is no longer there, when you drive by this old homestead you can't help but think of times gone by with respect for the people that made their lives in this remote beautiful place at the bottom of the mountain pass. This painting was done in Cle Elum at a watercolor workshop under the expertise of artist Robert Long in the summer of 2002. |
