On a cold clear day on top of Mission Ridge Ski Resort, chair two, you can look out to the west over miles of back country. This was on a day when the valleys were filled with fog, the January thaw had melted the snow from the tree tops more than usual and Mt. Rainier, in all of it's majesty and splendor appeared large in the distance. (Under the line of fog is the Ellensburg Valley.) Mission Ridge is located 13 miles from Wenatche, Washington and is a quaint ski resort known for its dry powder snow! I have worked there during the last 8 winters and never get tired of going to the top of the mountain for the skiing and the view! |
