St. Francis Xavier Mission & Indian Encampment
The Cashmere Museum Cashmere, Washington

Cashmere's history dates to the 1860s, when a Catholic missionary came to the area to set up a school for Native Americans. The town is located in the Wenatchee Valley in the center of the state on the North Cascade Loop. It has strong timber and fruit industries.

The museum's ongoing exhibits include the Pioneer Village, which features 21 restored buildings, set up as they would have been in the late 19th century, and excellent dioramas of local wildlife. For rail buffs, the museum has a section of railroad with a depot, section house, passenger car and a Great Northern caboose.
